For Dick and Betsy, they have prioritized education. In 2015, they gave more than $3 million to educational causes. Besides that, they awarded over 3 percent of their donations to groups that are calling for reforms in the education sector. Their second biggest area of focus is Arts & Culture. It represented over 21 percent of their charitable donations in 2015. Before that, they had donated $22 million towards the launch of an arts management institute at the University of Maryland.

He also added the revelation would have gone ahead whether or not Betsy had received the nomination for secretary of education. Dick DeVos began his career at Amway Corporation in 1974. In 1984, Dick DeVos rose to the position of VP of the company that has operations in 18 countries. In 1989, he started Windquest Group, a firm that was involved in the manufacture of closet and storage organizers.
In 1991, his father put him in charge of the Orlando Magic Basketball franchise, owned by the DeVos family. After a two-year stint, he went back to Amway Corporation as the president. He played a crucial role in the restructuring of the company. After that, he left the firm to work at Windquest Group as the company’s President. He has since helped grow the company globally and expand its operations.
