College Basketball Finds A Coaching Star In The Form Of Yanni Hufnagel

The basketball coaching career of Yanni Hufnagel has been long and taken in many different stops, despite the coach himself only having reached the tender age of 34 in a career that has taken in prestigious stops including the New Jersey Nets, Harvard, and the University of California, Berkeley. From an early age, it seemed Yanni Hufnagel has been destined for success in the sports arena of basketball as he has always had an interest in exploring the different coaching methods and strategies of coaches from across the history of the sport.

The first break Yanni Hufnagel received in the coaching community was located not far from his Scarsdale, New York home with the New Jersey Nets NBA franchise who gave Hufnagel his first chance as a volunteer coach following his graduation from Cornell University; the basketball community often sees former players and coaches make recommendations for vacant positions, a situation that gave Yanni Hufnagel his first role with Oklahoma University after his role with the Nets ended. Hufnagel proved a major success as both a coach and recruiter during his time with Oklahoma that Head Coach Jeff Capel recommended his assistant for a role with Harvard University’s basketball program.

It was at Harvard that Yanni Hufnagel began to build his career as a recruiting specialist who has continued to feature in some of the most successful basketball programs in the U.S. Recruitment has remained a priority for Yanni Hufnagel as he has moved to some of the most successful programs around where his skills as a coach of many outstanding players, such as Blake Griffen and Ivan Rabb, have not gone unnoticed by programs looking for future head coaches.
