One of the more intriguing art collectors has to be Adam Sender. Although he has enjoyed financial success as an investment manager it is the world of art that now attracts Sender’s focus and interest.
His personal art collection was begun in the late 1990s and Sender devoted time and effort to the acquisition of a stellar array of contemporary art masterpieces. This one-time hedge fund manager worked with renowned art dealers, auctioneers and various experts to help him create an extensive and unique collection that rivals those belonging to many museums.
With more than 1000 individual pieces to display Sender could have boasted about the numerous artists and titles that are represented in his collection. Among the contemporary artists that Sender enjoyed were such well known names as Cindy Sherman, Barbara Kruger, Raymond Pettibon, Urs Fischer and Ed Ruscha. What Sender has decided to do with this masterful collection is to share his finds with the world. According to Mr. Sender he feels that the pieces he has amassed should not be hidden away in vaults but made available to art fans far and near.
In recent years Adam Sender has loaned out a number of his one of a kind paintings. He has also arranged for exhibitions of various items from his art collection and sent others to auctions where they can be appreciated by a wider audience. These activities have brought a great deal of pleasure to the Sender family as they receive positive feedback from those who have had the opportunity to view the art exhibits.
Sender feels that one day his multi-million dollar hobby may find a home in a museum, but for now he is continuing to discover new artists and find new artwork to add to his collection. While Adam Sender admits that he has an appreciative eye for quality pieces he also states that he waits for an artist to develop before making any purchases. He prefers to find unique and interesting art work that has been created by artists with at least 1-2 years of professional experience. He even has an IMDB Profile.
